Soon it will be over

Tonight we are leaving Spain, our last port, and I am pretty sad. We’ll be back in the U.S. soon and I think it will be difficult to get used to my mundane life back home after everything I’ve seen and done. For now though, I am sad that I will be leaving the friends I’ve made. No one I know at home can understand what it was like to be on Semester At Sea, and the people I’ve shared these experiences with live all around North America. I haven’t said much about all of my friends in these posts so I’d like to take the time now to thank all of them. I don’t know if any of you will ever read my blog, but if you do, thanks for being such great people. None of these countries would have been nearly as interesting without you. Some of the wonderful people I've met on this trip around the world:

Drinking apple tea in a cave hotel in the Cappadocia region of Turkey (from left: Hua, my brother Mike, Eva, and Carly):

A group photo in the wind and rain on top of the city walls of Dubrovnik, Croatia (from left, top row: Mike, Emily, Jamie, Eva, Me; from left, bottom: Kelly, and Tawnya (a.k.a. T-Money):

Of course, I can’t forget my brother Mike. We hadn’t lived together for years and by now we are probably sick of each other. This trip wouldn’t have been nearly the same without him and I wouldn’t have met most of the people that came to be my friends without Mike. I’ll never forget traveling through India together by ourselves, or all of the other amazing things we did. Thanks:
